Here is a list of popular poetry titles here. Special thanks go to Joanna, Nancy and Willo's poetry book club, which regularly orders titles, many of which are featured here. Lewes happens to be home to an internationally-known couple of award-winning poets (Agard, Nichols), who often give readings here, explaining their inclusion! The collections themselves tend towards the accessible and economic, and can include wry humour as well as current political themes expressed by diverse voices, including those who foreground and celebrate culturally mixed identities. Here also is Gluck's intense look into the Underworld myth, and Riley's moving addresses to those lost to her. I think my bestseller though has to be Alan Bennett's delightful Six Poets anthology, the pleasure of which lies as much in his own conversationally-styled biographical anecdotes between each poem as in the deft selections themselves.
