Technology has a major role in today's advanced society. In the UK it has been at the centre of Government policies aimed at modernising government and increasing transparency, accountability and governance. However, the reality is that many organisations in the public sector are failing to engage with IT in any meaningful way. This report examines the usage of information technology within housing associations, focusing on the use of technology to extend effective governance through remote access and electronic communication.
